According to informed sources, Amazon (AMZN.US) is developing artificial intelligence (AI) software aimed at powering humanoid robots for package delivery.
Reports indicate that the e-commerce giant is creating a &#34;humanoid robot testing ground&#34; at an office location in San Francisco—an indoor obstacle training area for testing related robots. It is said that Amazon plans to test multiple humanoid robots, including one developed by Yushu Technology.
The report points out that Amazon intends to have these robots equipped with electric delivery vehicles from its partner Rivian (RIVN.US), which will disembark upon reaching their destination to complete package delivery tasks. Currently, a test vehicle has already been equipped at the testing ground.
It is noteworthy that Amazon's existing logistics network has deployed over 750,000 robots, but these devices are primarily used in closed environments within logistics centers.
This news coincides with Amazon establishing a new &#34;agentic AI team&#34; at its Lab126 research and development center in Sunnyvale. This team is dedicated to developing intelligent robotic systems suitable for logistics hubs.
