HSBC HOLDINGS current chairman Mark Tucker will step down at the end of September. According to Sky News, Naguib Kheraj, former vice chairman of Standard Chartered Bank and chairman of the board's risk committee, is one of the potential successors. HSBC has included Kheraj in the shortlist for the next chairman and is one of the few candidates currently being considered to replace Tucker. He is seen as a suitable candidate for the position, familiar with HSBC's core markets in Asia, and has served on the board of Standard Chartered for many years. Kheraj previously worked at Barclays for 12 years, most of which he held board positions, including Group Chief Financial Officer and Vice Chairman. He later became the CEO of JPMorgan Chase's Asia Pacific division. Kheraj also has extensive chairman experience, having led the private pension insurance company Rothesay Life, and currently serves as chairman of Petershill Partners, a London-listed private equity investment group backed by Goldman Sachs
