National Bureau of Statistics: The automotive industry has entered a new stage of development driven by "technology + data"

The 2025 China Automotive Industry Development International Forum opened today in Tianjin. A relevant official from the National Bureau of Statistics stated that data, as a new type of production factor, is not only the core support for the intelligent evolution of automobiles but also a key driving force for the future reconstruction of the automotive industry ecosystem and the upgrading of the value chain. Currently, intelligent connected vehicles generate massive amounts of high-quality perception, control, and interaction data daily, which can be widely applied in areas such as large model training for intelligent driving, high-precision mapping, and traffic scheduling optimization. The official also mentioned that China is currently in an era of industry transformation driven by data, where automobiles are no longer traditional mechanical products but are gradually becoming intelligent mobile terminals that integrate data collection, processing, and application. The development of the industry is shifting from a single technology-driven approach to a "technology + data" driven model, and is gradually entering a new stage of development empowered by data across the entire value chain
